I got into the media industry by chance. My first experience was a Cameo on a local based Mandarin movie, "My Dog Dou Dou" in September 2012. After that stint, through my friend's contact, I had a part in Mediacorp Channel 5's reality show "First XI". Followed by another cameo on Vasantham's popular drama series "Vettai 2.0". I was spotted by a talent scout. That was when I began to have more acting stints, one after another. Be it for local dramas (Channel 5, Vasantham, Suria, Channel News Asia), TVCs, viral web videos. I even had the chance to be part of local movie, "Ah Boys To Men". Last year (2012) I chose to share my eating disorder to the media(I have since recovered from it). It was on the last episode of drama-documentary,"On The Edge". I also played a supporting role on Mediacorp Channel 5 "Point of Entry".
I acted as a key witness in episode 6 "Cemented Soul".
A local celebrity sent me a message on FB, and that was how I landed a role in a Suria Drama, "Atuk PHD". Where I appeared in 4 out of 8 episodes of it. Acted as one of the "Gossip Girls". A mean student who creates rumours.
I am thankful to have the opportunities to act various roles, on different channels, speaking in different languages. With all these,I had the chance to sharpen my acting skills - to deliver my dialogues better, to portray required expressions naturally. And it certainly helps that I have a background in Mass Communications. I am able to apply what I have learnt from my course. I would love to be involved in Production someday.
Other than acting, I also enjoy doing events. Through this, it builds up my network, improve my communications skills. I have always been a people person and I am glad to have met people from all walks of life.
However, what I truly love doing is when it involves playing a part in helping the unfortunate. I attain a sense of satisfaction and it warms my heart knowing that I have made a difference. My first fashion runway (La Soiree Blanche), had Club Rainbow as its beneficiary.
